Still, you have what is known as an upset, something went through the engine. That damage must be repaired.

These short blocks are easy, anyone can build one.The first step is to take her the rest of the way apart, measure or have a machine shop measure and advise. Then select a supplier, obtain the parts you need, and put the short block back together.

Unless you have some good hand tools and some specialized tools tucked away, the machine work and head are best left to a professional.

Easy fix, just keep everything clean.
