Stick to the facts here guys. If you have specifics, post em up like Wayne did above, but rumours and innuendo help nobody. This is a hot button issue that we need to work together on. (And let's leave the name-calling for the Pirate board....)
BTW, for those of you who don't know Wayne, he is a leader in the RHD commmunity, and is taking up the fight for our rights with both barrels blazing... . He also has a really cool Mitsubishi Jeep (which I haven't seen yet, only in pictures) so he's not only a 'Cruiser guy (not that there's anything wrong with that! ) but a Mitsu guy too! (Wayne, I was corresponding with you back in Feb last year about a Pajero, before I found mine on USS auctions).
He also told me that ICBC will not be permitting any repairs (claims on existing vehicles, compliant or not) after the new legislation is in.
No sense fear-mongering or "he said - she said". In the mean time, this claim is downright farcicle. There's no way ICBC can legally implement a policy like this. The other thing worth mentioning here is the 15 year rule is FEDERAL, not provincial, so BC DOT has to stand in line behind everybody else who wants their legislation pushed through.
90% of the Designated Inspection Facilities are turning away the imported vehicles due to the high liability factor.
Is this a published number, or a WAG? I'd like to see specifics.
