yesterday i noticed i had jeep blood splashed in a perfect line across the underside of my jeep. looks like it is leaking out the tailshaft and being thrown around by the u joint. how do i solve this problem? should i just replace the seal or is there more i should address? special tools...rtv? at the moment it is my daily driver and must be fixed my thursday night.


I NEVER use rtv on a SEAL! It is a simple matter to drop the driveshaft and pull the yoke and then remove the seal and install the new one.. I always use a short piece of pipe or a large socket to beat on so the seal will be installed straight and not warp under hammer stress.
