Did a search that answered most my questions but I have a couple more. If I bolt up a pintle hitch can you still open the back door? What's the least invasive way to install the trailer light wiring? I don't think my Montero has the box under the back seat to tap into the wiring. Do you have to remove a taillight to get to the harness?

Jim, not sure about the pintle hitch. Wiring can be done via a wiring connector at the back of the rig (under rear seat). You'll need to buy another set of both connectors either at the dealer or from the salvage yard or from someone parting out their gen I. The used scenario is best because it will already have wires attached. You can then tap into that wiring setup w/out damaging the OE wiring setup. That's what I did. You should be able to find a pic of my setup if you do a search.
