I have talked to others who have used the 22RE fuel tank as is. I was told that an engine mounted fuel pump will pull fuel right through an idle electric fuel pump. If true it means all youáneed to do is modify (extend) the fuel line in the engine compartment.

That said, I think that you should reconsider. The 22RE engine controls are not terribly complicated. With a factory manual and a volt/ohm meter you should be able to figure out what needs to go where pretty easily. I am in the process of swapping a 22RE into my '84 xtra cab. I'd much rather be going in this direction than working with the carburetor. -- Matt
