Another 500 KM of driving today and found out a couple of things. With the 33" tires , my odometer is out exactly 1/10 of a kilometer. Your OEM tires had 30" diameter, your current tires have 33". There is exactly 10% difference.

i'm enjoying reading about your trip barak, but i hope you're not 'trippin' too much... ....I get 416 KM to a tank of gas , at 125 KM/HR.So , a KM =2.2 miles. My tank is 19 gallons , so if anyone good at math ... 1 kilo = 2.2 lb1 KM = .625 miles1 mile = 1.6 KMit'll make a *little* difference in the calculations here's a good site where you can just fill in your info and get the calculations liters to gallons, km to miles, mpg, kpl, etc http://www.robertbody.com/tools/metric-conversions.html

Ok , used that page you sent me to and did the calculations.Driving at those speeds on the highway , I am averaging just a little over 15 MPG.I think I would get about 18-19 if I was doing around 80 KM or so.Once you hit over 110 KM/HR your mileage drops quick.Still not sure on what I get in the city as I haven't been keeping track. Also some of that mileage was kind of in city driving , but not a lot , mostly high speed highway driving.
Its nice knowing the truck is handling this good with the amount of mileage I have put on in such a short time.I guess it just means I did one heck of a job putting it all together <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Barak-
I am not sure if you are doing your calculation correctly. You need to know how far you drive and how much fuel it takes to fill the tank back up. It does not matter your tank is 19 gallons, as you are not running it dry each time.
How much fuel did it take to fill the tank up after that 416KM?

I didn't run it completely dry , but the needle was on the E.It was at the same spot when I filled it up again. Each time I filled it up , it takes pretty much the same amount within a litre or 2.I guess I could have run it completely dry as I carry an extra jerry can with about 5 gallons in it.I just don't want to hurt the pump by running it dry as they aren't exactly cheap.
I'll try and monitor it a little closer my next trip around while I'm out here. The roads are very flat out here now that I'm in the prairies , not like going through the rockies , those hills were intense , steep and long.It depends if I have to go farther north or not , if I do , its another 8 hours of straight driving , with not much of anything in between.

I doubted you ran it dry, nor do you even need to. You just need to divide distance driven by the gallons it took do so. You could do this by burning a half a tank and you would still get a valid mileage number. The gas gauge is good for knowing where you are on your tank, but very poor for knowing exact gallons.
Good Luck, Michael

yeah, you just fill it all the way up, drive around and record your milage, fill it all the way back up again. see how many litres you used in that distance you went between fill-ups. divide amt of fuel into distance traveled.
