Hi,

If it stalls like someone just turned off the ignition switch. (total power loss) then my vote is the ignition coil or the black transistor mounted to the same bracket. I would recommend cleaning all of those connections around that area and see if it goes away. If not, start looking for the whole ignition module in a junkyard or see if someone on this board has a good one to sell. (I had six extra at one time but they're all gone now that I'm a diesel head)

I had the same thing happen to me on my first '89 LWB and it drove me crazy for 2 months. Couldn't figure it out myself, went through three mechanics until I found one who made solving the problem his personal quest!
