On my 2000 4runner 3.4L V6, the check engine light came on, had it diagnosed in the toyota dealer and they say the MAf sensor needs to be replaced. I cleaned the MAF sensor with an electrical cleaner, reset the computer(took negative cable from battery),but from time to time the engine light would come on and then off and lately more often and would stay lit for a long time.Dont really know what to do right now, if i had a bad maf sensor or something else.The truck runs fine but i dont know for how long?Do you guys have any suggestion with this dilema of mine? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I just cleaned the throttle body and am going to get elec cleaner for MAF senser...
engine light is on,,
code this morning was po-171(system adaptive fuel too lean)

any ideas?/

I bought a new MAF for my 1999 3.4 from the auto parts store. They gave a core credit on the old unit of $50.00. That brings the price down.
