I finally had a chance to mess with the truck today. I ran a compression test, and it came out fine, #1 160, #2 165, #3 155, #4 155. The plugs weren't oily, but they were black and sooty. The threads were really oily though. I was warming the truck up, and when I shut it off after around 5 minutes at idle, there was a huge backfire with lots of black smoke. Scared the crap outa me! After I did the test and put everything back, it ran with black smoke coming out of the tailpipe. When it was warmed up, and I was opening the throtle for the test, smoke came from the carb every time I opened the throttle. The carb was rebuilt before I bought the truck, I'm thinking it wasn't done right. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
