so done today ... the lowers anyway ...

today is the last day the tub will be upsidedown ...

also cleaned up the rear hardware , hatch shocks , lock ketch , plate .

hatch shocks seemed to be in great shape , but the hardware was rusty .. so I bead blasted all of it , and cleaned it all up to bare metal again .. zinc'd and painted ... I left the shocks as bare metal .. ran them under my wire brush , and they kind of turned out like a brushed aluminum .. I think they look awesome , so I clear coated .. and now are ready to assemble .

I am also ready to send out the hatch and cover .. I'm also going to send out the interior canopy trim plate to be line-x'd ..

I'm curious what method or process are you using to do the zinc coating? I see it mentioned every so often for protecting steel.

Looks good. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I've been paying attention to it as it is giving me possible ideas for micro RV project. My original thoughts on design are very close to what a Trekker is, but I want taller and an over cab extension. I'm now playing with the idea of making a steel roll cage frame and filling in the openings with insulated fiberglass panels.

Is the connection between the back and cab of the Trekker a hard interface with no give? I've been trying to figure out how to handle that area. My current idea is to have a flange where I can put a gasket seal with allot of small bolts to hold it together. There would be no real give in the joint. I'd cut a hole in the back of the cab that only leaves a narrow flange that will mate up to a flange on the front of the back. An EDPM gasket seal would be placed between the cab and back and many bolts would clamp them together.
