Good find on the wheels, a couple years ago, those weren't available.
The 4l30e is your transmission. But if you aren't doing any street driving, just off road in 4 low, that shouldn't be a problem.
There is not that much difference between 35-36, but you're already pushing it for axle strength, and 36s will be a bit harder to fit. Plus the BFG's is an updated design, will grip, last longer, and ride much better.
94redrodeo, the second gen d44 seems to be weaker then first gens. I'm guessing there is more of a neck down in shafts. Ask Bansil, they've snapped 2 or 3 shafts now with 32-33s and they do not wheel hard at all.

He has a 5spd I think. Ask Bansil, they've snapped 2 or 3 shafts now with 32-33s and they do not wheel hard at all. Both times were with tires air'd down near 12pounds,in creeks/rocks with most of vehicle supported by rocks, with tires wedged into cracks, and the tourqe converter flashed sending to much power to one tire with 5000lbs + on basically on axle shaft. Both axle shafts that broke, were in my opinion faulty shafts from the factory. Both axles broke at the snap ring groove, which was NOT right up against the bearings but actually about 3/4" inboard. since we switched shafts to ones that "look" normal, with snap rings against the bearings we have had no issue's.

Im still up in the air on running them at this time. I ordered wheels for them the other day so they should be in next week. Ill see what I have to work with after mounting them. They may just have to wait though till the axle swap.
The tranny is an issue though you are right. I will not get in the low transfer case gears so that in turn could have helped. Hell I may just bring them along and give it a go.
Main Idea was that I come down and actually get to wheel. Wont be doing it in 2 wheel drive though if I snap both half shafts.

With 36's and stock gearing you'll have issues even in 4low. The fact it's a 5 speed is a good thing, but your clutch may hate you for trying to run 36's and stock gears.

Doug, don't try to play it off. I remember you having a few choice words to describe those broken shafts. I'll bet you secretly mad scientisted yourself some new alloy shafts, and thats why they're holding up.
Anubis, I didn't know you were manual tranny. That helps a lot in my book. Lets laugh at all the auto guys that can't reverse up a curb.

WEll here is a pic of what it might look like. At least the front. To say that is a small step up is an understatement. It looks as though the front will not really be an issue for clearance but it is the rear more so. Of course you cant see that here. The wheels should be in soon so that will give me a better perspective. ![[Linked Image]](http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a161/anubiscustoms/Picture071.jpg)

Yeah, you need to bring those just for fun. I'd like to see them mounted up.
