It is a real PITA, well at least in the 99. I did it and you have to start from the top and work your way down. When i say top, I mean the panel piece strip along the top that goes around the rear cargo light. Then the 3rd row seats have to come out if you have those. The seat belts have to be dropped. I am not done yet. The top panels around the rear cargo windows have to come off. This includes the rubber stripping which is a pain to put back on. The floor strip which is held by 5 screws. Also, if you have the CD changer, that has to get unbolted as well. Finally, I now think you can take off the panels which are actually around the speakers. I might have forgotten something. It is a true PITA.

I don't understand why Mitsubishi didn't make it accessible through the speaker panel, but don't try to rip that off. IT is screwed in from behind and you will tear the plastic.

If you have any trouble with any of the pieces, let me know.

Do not forget to plug in the accessory socket in the drivers side bottom panel. I did and I didn't realize until I was finished putting it all back together. Let me say that I tore up my hand so bad in order to plug it in without taking it all apart again.

Have fun.
