My clutch has been making a very strange metal on metal squeaking for about 6 months. Checking it out, it is the clutch master cylinder ram vibrating against the clutch throwout lever that goes into the bellhousing. There is just enough gap between the 2 metal parts that as the clutch throwout lever vibrates it makes an annoying metal squeaking sound (don't know how much movement should be normal on the lever, does excessive movement of the lever indicate anything? It moves 1-2 mm's while the engine is running).

I'm thinking that if I can adjust the clutch just a little tighter, the 2 parts will just make contact and the sound will go away if there is no gap between them.

Any help?
