Need a Spot
Hi, I bought a 94 toyota 4x4 22re and the wiring for the O2 sensor had been hacked up by the P.O. I bought a "universal" O2 sensor and am having trouble finding/understanding the a wiring diagrams I found. The univerals O2 sensor has 4 wires 1 blue, 1 white and 2 black. Any ideas on how to wire this up to my truck? My truck has 1 black, 1 brown, 1 white/red, 1 black/yellow. I think... that is going from memory..

Sure, but the wire colors in my 94 electrical manual don't match your descriptions. Here are the connections I have for OX1 (main ox sensor):

Black - goes to ECU OX1 terminal
Pink/green stripe - goes to HT1 (heater) terminal on ECU
Brown - ground
White/red stripe - +B (battery) from EFI main relay

Hope this helps...

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a similar 02 problem with a 4 wire, same colors. The responses to this post really haven't helped me out. I don't really need to know which wire is which, i need to know which one to connect. Knowing this wire is signal, etc, isn't helping me connect the right four together. I could use some info like black-white/red, and so on.

Put the two prior replies together and you should have the answer, the first one shows the connections at the ECU and in the factory harness, the second one shows the O2 sensor connections.

If that does not help, I put them together for your convenience below:

Quote

Black - goes to ECU OX1 terminal = O2 Signal+ = Blue wire

Brown - ground = O2 Signal- = White wire

Pink/green stripe - goes to HT1 (heater) terminal on ECU = O2 Heater = Black wire

White/red stripe - +B (battery) from EFI main relay = O2 Heater = Black wire

4crawler thank you for helping us less toyota educated folks. You have helped me out alot in the past with your informative posts!....thanks for making the O2 sensor wiring fool proof in your last post, it helped me... I've looked at your wiring diagrams, denso wiring diagrams, fsm and still had it goofed up.
