can someone please post a picture of their 1981 or 1982 dashboard? i am most interested in the heater / air conditioning / stereo area of the dashboard. mine is really hacked up from the previous owners. to the point of not being able to tell how it is suppose to be.

also, does anyone know of any resources to repair or replace the top dash pad of the dashboard?

the goal is to restore the dash back to factory. at least as close as i can come to it.

anyone have the plastic dashboard face plates for the dashboard or know of a parts truck i can purchase these from? (i have looked in the for sale part of this site, but have not posted to the parts wanted yet)

You can find a lot of that stuff on fleabay. Main thing you want to let the vendor know about the dash is whether or not you have the side vent holes in the pad. You can alway get some Krylon vinyl paint to match up the vinyl to the rest of the truck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Mine is a different generation than yours, but here is what I did to my interior. Was very cheap and easy and turned out excellent.

thank you coryc85. i need this also. one question... what is the side window defrost? are these the 3" round vents that are facing the occupants on each side of the dashboard?

no .. they are the little 1.5" vents on the top of the dash cover 1 right / 1 left to blow air onto the windows
