Need a Spot
hello, I have a 88 Xj with a 4.0L I6. My alternator just died and Im going to get a new one but I need to know if I need a alternator with a internal or external regulator. thanks for the help.


88 XJ, 4.5 RE superflex, ARB bull bar, Warn M8000, 33" MTR's, OX locker, 4.88 gears, And Many KC lights.

Take the old one with you to the parts house.. As sometimes the problem is NOT the alternator. The guys there will test and give you several options (usually).

well your probably right on that one cuz the things only a year or so old but I think im going to go ahead and get a new one anyway that gets a higher ampage because I run a lot of extras (kc, winch, radio, Cb...). Thanks for the help Jim.
