Getting the Wheeling Fever
Just wondering what kind of mileage folks are getting from their 2.5 Tdi LWB Pajeros? Driving habits, tire size, road condition etc. all come in to play, but on average, are you pleased with the distance you get from at 92 litre tank?

I've been driving mine full-time for a week, 350kms and I'm only through 1/2 a tank. That's with a lot of idling time too. So far, compared to the Jeep I have no complaints!

My LWB is down to about 490kM/80L for the last few weeks of real winter here in Ontario... Before the dip below 0C it was closer 550 to 585kM/80L.. In summer, on hot streches (above 30C) I can get almost 625kM/80L..

I use 80L as the low fuel lamp turns on at about 12L left.. Better gauge than the gauge it self which can lead you to be off 10 or so liters depending on how you look at it...

with my 91 Paj 2.5 I am getting about 600km to a tank on 80 litres (thats what I usually always put in it) and thats at about -10C weather. I didn't think I was getting too great of mileage because mine leaves thick black clouds everytime I let the clutch out. but now seeing other peoples im doing pretty good.

yah...I am running 33" tires with a 5-speed. and sometimes I do have a heavy foot , if I babied it for an entire tank I could probably squeezy 650-700 out of it, but I have EXTREMELY bad road rage so sometimes it worth it to me to race up to a person who cut my off and flip them the bird and cut them off. I am not encouraging this kind of behaviour, and I am going to meetings for this haha. Dr. alexander keith helps me with my problems

By the way, before to go, how many minutes do you warm up?

Lets say:

- 10

about 0

+ 10

+ 20 degree Centigrade

Thanks

All the Vancouver winter I idle it for 5 min, at 1000-1100 rpm. (don't idle it at low rpm - it won't be enougf oil pressure) Another 5 min - slow, moderate driving.
In the winter my truck makes 8km/l, driving mostly short drives 7km to job and back. In Summer it makes 11 km/l.

Am I missing something here? I convert these figures to about 14.5-18.5 mpg. I get better than that with my 3.0 gas powered truck. Aren't these diesels suppose to get a lot better mileage?

Canadian winter = lots of idling for warm up maybe? I'm almost at 500kms now and still just below 1/2 a tank. The figures Torque and Bill quoted seem low to me. No far, no one has quoted mileage for a straight highway run.
