I think thats what its called. Heres a pic to go by:

[Linked Image]

I am missing the passenger side. How important is it? I called the dealership today and they had no idea what I was talking about, so I plan on taking the driver side piece down there tomorrow and show them. I hoping it doesn't cost an arm and a leg....Junkyards are my LAST resort; the ones around here that actually have Toyota's charge more than the dealer.

Well.. it's kinda important as it holds your tranny to your motor. The 4 bolts holding the block to the engine stand are most important.. but if you can I'd find a new bracket for the passenger side.

If you go in the for sale section I'm sure there are people parting their trucks out. I might even have one of those lying around, but it'd take some time to get to texas..

Since I have a 3.0 I may be talking out of turn but on my 3.0 they are what the four bottom bolts on the bellhousing bolt to. So I would say they are important.

Yeah, there's a couple guys here parting out Toys with 22Rx's. Give them the link to this thread so as to see what you're talking about.

About the only time a dealer would see those if there's a teardown going on in the back. So, if the parts guy doesn't know, s/he's never dove into these rigs too far.

I would think on the parts breakdown that would show up in the block section.

Oops, they bolt into the block thru the bellhousing, if I've got what you're talking about. In his photo, the one with the head of the bolt facing to the left is the one most people overlook when they're fixin' to break the tranny away from the engine. The rest go in from aft.

my '79 truck didn't have any bolted to the motor or tranny -- 4 short bolts were bolted to the back plate into the transmission bellhousing, looked factory to me.

thought it was some wierd auto-only thing(i bought a celica engine with them attached, it was from a car with a slushbox) until i bought my '91 truck!
