We've got a gunshow in town this weekend, and I've been eyeballing the Taurus CIA .357 or .38 or maybe the shrouded hammer Titanium models in the same variety. One for me, and one for the mizzuz.
I used to have a S&W J frame, and really liked it...these little Taurus are hella cool, and was wanting to know if'n any of you carry those specific makes, and what you think about them.

I used to carry a Glock 27 daily when I lived in Oregon. That's my favorite concealed carry gun. Lots of stopping power. Good compact design. So ugly you don't really care if you rub the finish off, not that you could...

Thatd be me. Ive got 2... carry 1 religiously. It's an old beater. S&W J-frame Airweight. 38spcl The finish is pitting off, and it isn't very pretty, but it does it's job very well. The other is a stainless taurus. It is pretty, but heavy, and cheaper feeling. I recommend getting a good holster for any CCW duty. I had a POS I bought at a gun show a few years back, and used it for a long damn time, but it was just junk compared to my Galco Scout. Your options are endless really. I really do not like taurus guns at all. You can shoot mine side by side, and feel the difference. My S&W is external hammer SA/DA, while my taurus is bobbed hammer SA only. It's hammer digs into my gut sometimes, but I can usually adjust it where I'm not impaled. I like the function of a SA hidden hammer gun, but the looks of a SA/DA exposed hammer gun. ![[Linked Image]](http://myweb.cableone.net/wmartz/Pictures/38s2.JPG) I heard those titanium models are rock out kick ass cool, but I have not shot one yet. The recoil is pretty peppy with my airweight, and it's lack of a pinky finger grip. I am sure it would be even worse with a lighter gun.

The Taurus 'Carry It Anywhere' models are a completely internal hammer. No shroud, no trimmed hammer- its all inside. http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=295&category=Revolver ![[Linked Image]](http://www.taurususa.com/images/imagesMain/850SS.jpg) I'm looking for something small, light, and can be fired from a coat pocket (more than once) if need arise.

from a coat pocket (more than once) if need arise. Thats the ticket then. Concealed hammer SA j-frame. Everyone I know thinks I am crazy for "only" carrying my revolver. MOST of my CCW friends carry 16+1 semi autos with a spare mag. while I can see that would be useful, I'm not a casual concealer. The trade off for me is too much to haul around a large semi auto, or even a compact. I tried.... It's just not worth it to me. I'm a fairly good shot with this one. I suggest lots of practice, and don't expect to be a sniper. 1 7/8ths barrel.... not super accurate. You have the LandRaider stamp of approval. Thank you for taking your personal responsibility in hand. Good Luck, and we will be wanting to see your gun (s) when you get them(it)

I'll still carry the Ruger 345, but I'd just like a little variety in my options.
I've realized the best way to get the toys I want is to also include one for mama. Good thing my idea of toys and her idea of toys run along the same tangent.

I too find the Glock 27 to be the best compromise for concealed carry. I can carry 11 rounds of .40 (with a neat mag extension that makes holding the gun easier), which is more firepower than a .357 Mag in a package about the size of a snubnose revolver.
A while back, I bought a Kahr PM40, which was a really neat gun, in a super light, super small package. 6 rounds of .40. But the Kahr has reliability issues, so it gathers dust in my safe now.
I think for pure simplicity, pure reliability, you can't beat a revolver. You know for sure it will go bang and even if the bullet misfires, you don't have to do anything but pull the trigger and it will go to the next bullet. For most situations, 5 or 6 rounds will be enough, and 5 rounds is better than none. I don't own one, but someday I'd like to pick one up.

i carry my xd 45 in a comptac IWB holster, it is big, but packs enough punch, i dont carry a full mag, only keep it half loaded for longetivity of my mag spring, another option is the 3" xd subcompact models, they're very concealable.

Comp-tac's are highly thought of in my gun circle. I wish I could find one for my semi auto, but it is kind of obscure.
IF I KNOW I am going into a crappy hood, or wanna switch up my carry, I have 13+1 of 9mm on tap. I'm just not going to carry that EVERY DAY EVERYWHERE I GO.

Ohh and Glocks are ugly. Just had to add that in here.
Yeah... I'm kidding of course... but they're still ugly.
