I carried a S&W 5-shot stubby a few years back and it's a great little gun, but 38cal, 9mm, and 357mag tend to over penatrate if you are not careful about your bullet selection.

I now carry a RAP-440, which is a Republic Arms compact 40cal in all blue-steel, it is a great gun and about the size of my hand. Seven shot, verry accurate at 25 meters, and with Gold Dot ammunition it is very effective.

It is a great gun if you can find one.
