My friend puts it in his Ford Escort and has noticed a 5 mpg increase. It'll scratch the tires now when it shifts into overdrive.

Cuervo ...MAN what a junk site! 25/35% milage gains claimed.. Just goes to show that one can put on the internet. Words, words and more words with no factual testing.. Joe Blow claims this and MAry Blow claims that..
All the while all the car companies in the world are trying their best to get even ONE more mile per gallon...oh if it were so easy.
TRUST me if 2 oz of ANYTHING would get better milage it would already be in your available fuel! ANYBODY that can find an additive that will increase milage by any amount will become extreemly wealthy overnight..

And maybe if I do that, plus wax my CJ with the latest brand of high-speed-low-drag car wax, it will reduce friction so much that my top speed will let me win a NASCAR race with it! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I agree with you BJ -- some people will say or write ANYTHING, but there will always be someone out there that believes them!

Do you think that oil companies are going to add anything to the fuel for better economy without government forcing them. Do you think the govt. is going to do that when oil companies help line politicians pockets. and isn't it funny how the better the fuel economey on cars get the higher the price of fuel? I'm not saying that acetone will add 25-35 % gas milage but I do think it will help.

Here is my THEORY and only that. Part of acetones use is as a cleaner, my thoughts are it removes varnish and such from the fuel system and so on to allow your car to run better, like it did when it was newer. Nothing more nothing less, it just cleans out the crap that caused you to get worse mpg and you get closer to your original mpg. That in turn gives the owner false feeling that they have greatly improved their milage.
Now the only way to know for sure is wait for the results from playing's tests, then I will do my own tests as well. I know for a fact my engines fuelsystem and so on is clean and well maintained.I also know my fuel economy is the same as it was 4 years ago. I regularly check it that will help in finding future issues quicker such as fouled plugs low tire pressure and so on. between these tests i think we can either lay it to rest as a myth or confirm it.

now you are talking, how do we get Adam and Jamie to prove this once and for all? I am on Big Jim's side that this is all bunk, but it has grabbed my attention enough to come back here to read, but not enough to try it, and end up fubaring my jeep.
