TRUST me if 2 oz of ANYTHING would get better milage it would already be in your available fuel! ANYBODY that can find an additive that will increase milage by any amount will become extreemly wealthy overnight..

Do you think that oil companies are going to add anything to the fuel for better economy without government forcing them. Do you think the govt. is going to do that when oil companies help line politicians pockets. and isn't it funny how the better the fuel economey on cars get the higher the price of fuel? I'm not saying that acetone will add 25-35 % gas milage but I do think it will help.

Here is my THEORY and only that. Part of acetones use is as a cleaner, my thoughts are it removes varnish and such from the fuel system and so on to allow your car to run better, like it did when it was newer. Nothing more nothing less, it just cleans out the crap that caused you to get worse mpg and you get closer to your original mpg. That in turn gives the owner false feeling that they have greatly improved their milage.
Now the only way to know for sure is wait for the results from playing's tests, then I will do my own tests as well. I know for a fact my engines fuelsystem and so on is clean and well maintained.I also know my fuel economy is the same as it was 4 years ago. I regularly check it that will help in finding future issues quicker such as fouled plugs low tire pressure and so on. between these tests i think we can either lay it to rest as a myth or confirm it.
looks like we have a jeep forum mythbusters crew <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
