Getting the Wheeling Fever
OK it's not really a nightmare, but one of my power windows is toast. The window stopped going up or down, and I finally got around to taking the door apart and looking inside. Yikes.

It seems the cable that actuates the window is jammed up, and a little white plastic cable run broken. I tried what I could, but nothing did anything, so for now duct tape is the only thing keeping the window up.

Can these be fixed, or is it common to get a whole new door at a junk yard or something?

Need a Spot
I had the same problem with the cable and broken white plastic peices, I just replaced the window regulator that is complete with the track, cable, ect. Cost about $100 and about an hour to instal. I ordered from an online parts store.

That doesn't sound so bad, but how did you get 'in there' to install all the bits and pieces? I can barely fit my fingers in there. I'm sure there must be a trick, because my bleeding knuckles were pretty useless.

I too have had the same problem. As I recall it didn't take very long to replace either. Also paid under $100 shipping included.

Its not as bad as it seems once you dive into it. You can get a chiltons manual to help you along.
