Noticed bad black smoke from exhaust pipe , after changed gasket set in the fuel pump, fuel filter changed as well.
What it could be?
Thanks

When are you getting smoke? A little on hard acceleration, at startup, or all the time?
Some smoke can be normal, I hear. I get none however. Lots of black smoke means unburned fuel, so it could be running rich. Look on the POCUK site for info on turning down the fuel pump. Who did your pump seals? From what I've read, you generally need to get a pump calibrated after it's been worked on.

When are you getting smoke? I drove behind my Pajero and I believe, when my brother shifted the gear and then a little bit with acceleration. Here http://www.maxoverdrive.ca/ changed the gasket set. I would not recommend to go to them. Who needs a reason, please send me a private message and I'll tell you. Put local diesel for 20 bucks and it started! With Japan fuel, with leaking fuel pump it was not at all! Cheers,

A little bit of smoke under acceleration only could be normal. The leaking pump might not have been delivering full pressure, so less fuel. Now, with the repaired pump, you have a rcher mixture.
That's all guessing, not much else to do over the internet. If it really bothers you, take it in to a diesel specialist.

my pajero smokes black lots too, only under hard(ish) acceleration and everytime I let the clutch out in 1st gear it leaves a little cloud. black means "partially" unburned fuel, blue is totally unburned fuel, you'll notice on a cold morning its blue. greyish white smoke means burning oil.

I get none. So little that I'm considering turning up the mix a touch.

I would like to upgrade it to 3" eventually but I can't justify me actually needing it haha. I would like to cut back on the smoke a little bit, maybe I'll just crank the boost up more.
