Exactly! I see tach/dwell combo's going for pennies on eBay. I'm waiting for an industrial quality unit at a bargain price. Something with a large meter and switches for 4/6/8 cylinders and high and low range rpm.

I've seen new tachs that have an inductive pickup. That should work with any engine that has sparkplug wires. The idea of a timing light with inductive pickup and a built-in tach makes good sense. -- Matt
