Yeah, that's what it stands for. Turn the dial on the DVOM to "4cyl" and attach the positive lead to the coil negative post, then ground the DVOM negative lead to a decent ground and BAM! You've got RPM. Works great for me.


So I guess that implies that you need an automotive specific DVOM, like the Actron CP7677... I think Matt was asking (and I was wondering) if there was any way to use a generic DVOM as a tach....
