Got my bumper finished today! paints dry and its all mounted up. i wish i would have gotten pics during the build. all the metal came from an old hammock support that one of my guys found on a jobsite. this only cost me a couple metal blades for my saw, a holesaw, welding wire and paint. guess i gotta change my sig now.... this was my first real fab job since getting my welder, a lincoln mig 125. i love it so far. i tried to put a little more reinforcement into the corners, if you look closely you can see the bondo cracking from the body repair that occasioned a new bumper to begin with. any feedback appreciated! thanks, Jeff ![[Linked Image]](http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u52/cracker89_photos/Bumper4.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u52/cracker89_photos/Bumper3.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u52/cracker89_photos/Bumper1.jpg)

Edit: i plan to mount some kind of tire carrier/jerrycan holder on the bumper soon. anyone done this or have any good ideas on supporting it without mounting it to the body?

pics working now. stupid myspace. yay photobucket.
4crawler, the design looks great, thanks for the pics....one question, do the upright posts interfere with being able to see the tailights? this truck is a daily driver.

thanks for the compliments folks. i plan on doing a front with a similar design, with a bull-bar kinda thing that has bottom mounts at the tow hooks and ill tie it into the bumper at the top for some good front end protection and be able to mount lights without obstructing rad airflow. plus the tire/jerrycan carrier for the rear, i hate having the spare in the bed. one thing ive learned from this: even if yer gonna just do 1 bumper, get a tubing notcher. i had to spend ALOT of time with the angle grinder to get the pieces to fit just so. like with most fabrication, 80% fitment and prep, 20% actually welding it together.

depends...do you want hammock scrap like mine or actual bumper tubing? lol...plus the black paint and pictures at dusk hide alot.
