I'll be sending out a list of attendee's with everyone's number. I know some of you have already sent me your numbers, but some haven't. Can you please PM me your cell number so I can include you.

In a few days I'll send you all the event details flyer (pdf document) including a map, directions to Pismo, etc. so please make sure you've PM'd me your cell phone number. You probably don't want to be the only one on the list with "Cell Number not provided".

TIA.

OK, I've now got everyone's contact details & just sent each of you a PM with an image containing the directions to Oceana Dunes SVRA (AKA Pismo), maps, and contact info for all attendee's.

IF for some reason you get lost on the way there or encounter difficulty, please contact one of the others on that list so we'll know what's up and (if possible) come help/get you.

So far we've got 12 attendee's and it looks like this will be a blast of a trip. Looking forward to seeing you all there in a couple of weeks!

BTW, does anyone need help with what to bring & how to prep for this trip? Send me a PM and I'll help you with that.

FYI -- I'm heading down Friday morning so ETA to Pismo is Friday afternoon. Is anyone else arriving this early? I have a small trailer so it won't be hard to pick up and move if ya all don't like the spot I choose!?

I'll camp anywhere there, I'm sure it's all good... I'm just used to setting up camp at the base of the dunes between mile markers 3 and 4 (instead of near the water) because that's where my friends have picked in the past. It has easy access to the dunes, a shortish walk to a restroom, an amazing view, plus you're clear of the "highway" along the water front. However it is in slightly deeper sand, this shouldn't be a problem for you guys right?

Here's what my setup will look like:

See you there!

Uhhh me? Actually another friend is probably coming down with me and she has to drive to Santa Clara from SF so I may be leaving a bit later but I'll let you know for sure.

Sounds good!

I'm fine with whatever area you choose. Just make sure there's enough space for all the rigs when we show up and it's not right on some major throughfare (but I guess that's kind of obvious right?)

OK so how about the rest of you? If you can give us all an ETA that would be greatly appreciated.

I've got some bamboo and pvc and a bunch of yellow and black "CAUTION" tape. I'll block off a good size camp for our group. No prob.

OK, I've been asked by some what they should bring for this event.

At a minimum...

CAMPING GEAR
You should have some type of enclosed camping shelter (sand can get everywhere), sleeping bags (gets cold at nite) and other basic camping items (stove, etc.)

Also it can get cold during the day depending on the weather so have a variety of jackets (windbreaker, lightweight, medium, heavy).

VEHICLE
Try to make sure it's in good and reliable mechanical condition.

Optional items...
- The larger the tires the better (can air down tires)
- A Snatch/Recovery Strap (not a tow strap)
- Basic to full tool sets. If you have them and can bring them (resonably) please do.
- Others will have tools and other necessities as well but it's always better to be prepared yourself.

COMMUNICATIONS GEAR
Make sure you have some form of communications with you. At least a cell phone, or CB radio. Range depends on placement of the antenna so you may or may not be able to communicate from town to us on the beach. That's why a cell phone is important if you have one. I'll also have an FRS radio but that's only good for close range comms... even if its says its a 12 mile range unit.

For CB, I always try to use Ch 1. For a backup frequency lets got with Channel 20

FOOD
Entirely up to you. Remember there's lots of places to buy food at Pismo/Oceana so if you're late, just come down and buy something locally.

MISC
Trash Bags: Please be environmentally friendly. While there are trash cans on the beach they're usually not close buy.
Diaper Wipes: Great for cleaning the dirt of yourself and "gentle" on your skin. :o

I'm sure I'm probably missing some info (please add if you notice something glaring), but that's the bulk of it.

The only item that should be added to the list is drinking water. I don't think there's any water source on the beach except for the ocean.

Good Point! I knew I forgot something but I was just too tired to rack my brain any further trying to remember it.

Less than 3 weeks left so my mind if swimming with prep stuff.
-What's the status of my camping supplies?
-Do I have to do any laundry before the trip? (yes )
-What food do I want to bring & do I need to go shopping for that?
-Do I have all my recovery gear and what's it's current condition?
-Any last minute stuff I need on my truck? (lots)
-Did I forget anything planning this for everyone else?
etc. etc. etc...
