We'll likely all get stuck in the sand to some degree but that's why we're going as a group. Nobody will be left behind or stranded.

As for traction aids in deep sand, having an Open diff, lsd,lockers, there's not much difference IMHO. The key is keeping the body off the sand (i.e. minimum drag/friction).

You can do this by airing down your tires to create as large a footprint as is safe (depends on tire size and construction).
