Not bringing any kids.

I put my 33's from my other Monty on my red one the other night. Took me well over an hour (manually done.. i.e not using air rachets, etc.) to swap them over. Even included the spring clips that hold on the hub caps on the back rims but couldn't get the front ones on because the spacing was just too tight.

Hopefully Roger Brown will finish the rock skids next week so he can get them on ASAP. Otherwise, he won't be able to help me get them on until the week before. He is going to get the trailing arm plate done and installed by next week I believe but I may wait to do them both at the same time.

Tonight I'm gonna transfer my xcase skid plate over (hopefully it fits) and also finish fabricating my new CO2 tank mount.

I'm doing all these minor changes (xcase plate, co2 mount, etc.) to pacify the "need" because I'm exceptionally bad with delayed gratification but boy is the anticipation for this trip and the pending "hard" upgrades (locker) killing me now!

How about the rest of you?

Installing Pioneer (Premier) stereo, Boston speakers and Front firing CB radio tonight. I NEED to get radiator flushed, install new plugs, buy and install new fan clutch and change all oily substances. May need to do some front end tweaking and refreshing. The Monty has 203,000 (I put on 2,000 miles already) and I haven't checked everything out yet. Add a tranny flush, too. A little money, but should be a reliable ride when I get up there.

Russ, I'll bring the wheels.

Anyone have any "upgrades" they want to bring and barter? I'm keeping the Raider on IFS, so anything you want to be rid of, let me know (if you don't expect too much out of it, that is).

According to the Wells Guide flags are not required for SUV's but they are required for ATV's, sand rails, bikes, etc.

I bought one in the past not knowing this but I'm gonna run it anyway so I can be seen over some of the dunes.

I have 2 gen I Montero trailing/control arms. If anyone needs them, you can have them for $30 (lowest price I found on car-part.com).

I also have one unused & unmounted 33x12.5x15 Yokohama Geolander Mud Terrain for sale. First $100 dollars gets it! (these go for $150 from tire shops)

Russ,

You're right. I just called the Oceano Dunes office to clarify it and they said any motor vehicle has to have the flag as outlined in your equipment link. Hmmm, Mr. Wells has to update his book.

Jon,

Oh which... Trailing Arms, Tire, or both?

Also has everyone on here gotten the flyer I pm'd you? Were you able to print it ok?

There have been some changes to it but I'll wait until the week before the trip to send it out again.

Update
OK, Just made my reservations with http://www.reserveamerica.com whom I believe is the only place you can buy the reservations through (can't buy them in advance from Oceano Dunes SVRA). Price is $10 per night plus a $7.50 reservation processing fee.

You can also buy them at the gate but there's no guarantee that they won't run out of space. On the other hand, the SVRA website says from the May 15 on, you should reserve in advance. Since May 5 is before that, you decide.
