You will lose some leg room with buckets in a standard cab, however if you can get them out of an MR2, you wont loose as much as if they are out of a 1st gen Runner. The 2nd and 3rd gen Runner seats are thicker, so you will lose more leg room with these than with the 1st gen. seats. Another option would be to use a 60/40 split bench bucket seats. I installed a set from a '91 in the '86 X-cab I am rebuilding. There was some loss in headroom, but at 6'2" I still fit comfortably in it and there was no loss of leg room between the 60/40 and the original bench seat.

If you can't find buckets from a truck or MR2, look for buckets from import sports cars from the mid-80's, Supra and Celica seats will work, w/o a loss in headroom, other buckets will/can reduce headroom a lot, especially late model Honda buckets.
