I do not have a jeep. They are not comming over here and bothering us. So I say let them have their way for now. Now if I owned a Jeep and my Raider I would go in and tell of my experiences.

At first they were making fun of my little tin can but then were impressed on what it can do in stock form. I had regular tires, not agresive , like them and still they were not going anywhere. The Jeep was getting hang everywhere and the IH had too big tires and no flex, and none of them had locker nor LSD.
Poor rednecks they thought that stickers and huge tires does everything.

I went over and read a chunk of that thread.

I even registered on that dumbass board to do so.

What a bunch of arrogant, presumptuous, haughty, imperious, brazen jackasses.

...and they speak from their tookuses too...

I have owned two Jeeps, both were great off-road. I had a CJ-7 and a 76 Quadratrac. However, I think most Jeeps on the road are just cheap convertables for hot college chicks.

I actually yanked a Grand Cherokee out of axle deep mud a few months ago. I pulled him out backwards and it ripped of his lower bumper valance. He then understood why I replace the beutiful stock front bumper with a "Smittybilt".

I can't totally support arguments for or against either vehicle, but this is said without reviewing the referenced article. I've now had 2 Jeeps - a 1983 DJ5M (Postal Jeep) and a 1975 Cherokee Chief and a total of 7 Montero/Raiders.

+ The DJ was just plain scary!! Sold for profit to a high school kid because of the camo paint!!

+ The Cherokee Chief had a 401 V8 with 40" glass packs that dumped below the doors, sounded great, best riding vehicle I've owned, but couldn't keep the t-case together. About 3 years ownership, 3 t-cases, and 1300 miles. Sold for loss.

+ The silver Montero hit a tree, I was able to drive it home and for another 1800 miles before the radiator gave up. Then I bought my Raider....look out!
