I have recently purchased a '99 Trooper Luxury with chrome power folding and heated side mirrors. Unfortunately the glass was broken in the driver's-side mirror when I bought it. I have called about 10 different glass companies and have received different answers concerning the availability of replacement heated glass. Everyone claimed they had a mirror piece that would fit but no one could give me a guarantee that it was heated since no one was familiar with this vehicle. Has anyone run into this issue or know the setup inside one of these mirrors? Is there just a plain piece of glass that sticks to a heated pad of some sort, or does it take a special glass that has the heat strips formed onto the back of the mirror? The Isuzu dealer I spoke with has replacement glass for $90 which I'm sure would work, but most of the glass companies are quoting me $30-$40 installed. One of the part numbers I was given from two of the glass folks is 2299. I would really like to have the heated mirror operational, but $90 is a little steep, and I would hate to spend $40 without the guarantee of the heat function. Any ideas? Thanks, Tim
