I have seen some discussion on the body lift but not really seen exactly what is all is required to do the lift. What hoses have to be replaced or moved. I started thinking about it and it seems like there would be a lot that would have to be done and I may just be thinking to much into it though. I was just wondering if someone that has done this might have a list. I would like to do maybe a 1" to 2" lift.

When doing a Roger Brown (one of the few makers or 1-3inch body lifts for the Montero/Raider) lift he supplies you with most of the hardware (longer bolts etc) needed for the lift. Depending on lift size there is minimal custom work to do, you should have enough brake line etc to stretch out to make it work. You will probably have to drill holes in your rear bumper to let the extended body mounts through. This is just from memory guys I have seen body lift their trucks, and what I have been told by Roger via Email. I might have missed something and I am sure they will chime in too. You can use the search button up there for "Body Lift" (in the Mitsu 4x4 and SUV Tech Section) or "Roger Brown Lift" and should come up with something. Best of luck to ya. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Yeah search for "body lift," use quots. Quick search click click click Brake lines will have to be bent a little to extend in the front, plenty of room. Make sure they do not rub the body. Fuel filler hose, on mine I just unbolted the bracket and it extended enough. I have to bend my fuel lines coming off of the top of the gas tank. You will have to adjust the gear selector if you have a auto. One bolt, very easy. 4cyls have that rear body mount, you will either have to cut the bumper or leave off the top plates. You can use pretty much any body lift "pucks," ha, I did, official ones at that. You have to remove the tail lights to access 2 of the rear bolts. You may need to move the power steering thing, some have to, some dont, move it one bolt over if needed. Go slow and check everything while you lift. Lower rad shroud, I still run my lwb v6 with the lower part, it stays cool in 100 LA heat.
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

What about the radiator and its hoses. I know the rear heater hoses will need to be longer. Darn just put new ones on also.

The links were very helpful. I was mainly concerned about the radiator not being in the same position. So you just remove the bottom peice and let it go. Simple enough. I am just looking at the body lift as an alternative to the TB crank, but I may end up doing both once I check with some local shops about the alignment issue.

Then after the lift bolt it back on one hole over and only using one bolt. There is no need to mess with the power steering reservoir on the 2.6. Also, with a 2.6 he will need to lengthen at least one heater hose. I did a write-up which is on 4crawler's website. Browse through it and let me know if you have any questions.

I did the Roger Brown 2" lift. Apart from undoing the gas filler hose clamp, parking brake clamp under the truck, the rest was just stretching the brake lines, plenty there since they're coiled. I don't know about the radiator fan since I run electric ones. Just do one side at a time, carefully raising the truck and observing what needs extending (brake lines) or removing, (hose, cable attachments).
