Need a Spot
I was away from my T100 for several months and mice got in under hood. Upon taking off air flow vents under windsheild wippers, I found a huge nest even though the vents have a screen backing. After taking out interior fan motor and cage, I ran water from outside vents and collected it inside on the husky floor liners. It took about 20 minutes of running water to get a all that debris out. They also made their way into the air filter box.

Any suggestions how to keep them out?

Sorry to hear you have a case of mice.

You could hire a cat... Not sure how you would keep vermin out of yer truck...too many bogus stuff out there.

in my fustration i was thinking along the lines of pulling the fan motor when away and sealing a 12 volt paper shredder to the opening and priming it with some cheese...

Mice have a natural aversion to mint, and will generally avoid it. Plant it around the exterior of your house as a deterrent as well as potting some around your home. Not only will they keep mice away, but theyÆll freshen the air as well. Ahhh. Spearmint seeds can be had in garden centers or ordered online

So you might try some mint extract or plants inside yer truck and other areas that they got into...

Gotta watch mint; that stuff can get pretty invasive.

Might want to make sure the area around the truck stays mowed if you aren't opting to put it in a storage lot.

Also when handling vermin middens, wear disposable gloves and a dusk mask; dem dere things carry disease.

Also lay out some fresh clothes before you start, so your chore clothes can go straight into the wash when you're done.

>>>*I have experience with mice. I set traps and they rob the traps, my cats are so fat they won't even look up at a bird, I tried plugging up all the holes to no avail.

I just take my Corvette to the dealership, have them evicted, then drive it home for another load.

I figure someday I will have all the mice at the dealership and none left at home.

I hate mice!....*EB

I read somewhere that a guy stuffed mothballs under his hood in an attempt at keeping mice out. Or maybe that was moths...?

There is an air filter on these trucks? Where is it?
I have the same trouble with a light plane in a hangar with a concrete floor.
What I did to keep them out is to get some thin sheet metal, like 30 ga. One piece for each wheel. Have it cut long enough so you can bend it in a rectangle and place it around each tire. It will have to be tall enough so the mice cannot jump over it, but of course must fit under the bottom
of the fender. This makes a un- climable barrier for mice around the only part of the truck touching the ground.

If it is sitting on dirt or grass, it probably won't work- they'll dig under the metal.

Where is that filter?

Body Damage is Cool
you could but a screen on the elbow inside the fender welll to keep them out of the air filter box...hope you have an air filter in there otherwise you might have some mice making their home in the throttle body...

That canned expandable foam insulation works pretty good for sealing up the small cracks they get in through. I swear they must be able to "disjoint" their bodies from the little amount of space it takes for them to get into things.
