I am going to give this a try. I will put a little peppermint oil in the air box also.

I picked up a can of Lysol disinfectant and it happened to be Spring Waterfall scent which has a little mint scent to it.

There is an air filter on these trucks? Where is it?

Have no cabin fiter either, I was referring to engine air intake.

I have the same trouble with a light plane in a hangar with a concrete floor.
What I did to keep them out is to get some thin sheet metal, like 30 ga. One piece for each wheel....

I surprised their feet just don't stick to the sheet metal...

you could but a screen on the elbow inside the fender welll to keep them out of the air filter box...hope you have an air filter in there otherwise you might have some mice making their home in the throttle body...

I think I just try peppermint oil in the airbox...

garym: That canned expandable foam insulation works pretty good for sealing up the small cracks they get in through. I swear they must be able to "disjoint" their bodies from the little amount of space it takes for them to get into things.

They are getting in under the right front fender. The windshield runoff tray catch drains somehow under there and would have to be careful not to seal that space... maybe insert a tube along with the foam...

Ok, will split the patent, peppermint flavored air filters...

Serious thanks to everyone for their suggestions and time. The list is peppermint (mint), mothballs, cat, tire guards, foam sealer, dust mask protection, screens, and dealership dropping, Am i forgetting anything...??

I will report back...

This is where I found that mint thing about mice. Apparently, the mint oil isn't effective as one might think. I guess it has to be mint plants.

Although...you could build you one of them bucket traps...

DIY bucket trap
This mouse trap is constructed from a bucket half-filled with water. It works by baiting the mouse over the bucketÆs opening and then causing it to fall into the water and drown.

Materials: 5-gallon bucket, wire clothes hanger, paper towel tube (or several toilet paper tubes taped together), something to use for a ramp, and bait. Assembly is as follows:

1. Remove the metal handle from the bucket.
2. Thread the wire hanger through one of the bucketÆs handle holes, the cardboard tubes and then back out through the second handle hole. Bend the ends down securely. The tubes should almost reach from one end of the bucket to the other (leave a small gap near the edges so the mouse has to jump onto it).
3. Mix the bait with peanut butter or glue to make it sticky and generously smear it around the center of the tube.
4. Fill the 5-gallon bucket half way with water and place it in the area of infestation. Set up some ramps to help the mice up and youÆre done.

Check your bucket every day or two and if the water starts getting stinky, a little cooking oil to coat the surface can keep the smell contained. Never touch a dead mouse and change the water after every kill.

Get a snake, they are much less maintenance then a cat and hardly take up any room. You probably wouldnt even know its there until you do some serious wheeling and it crawls up yer leg to hold on.

>>>*One thing about mice, no WAY are they smarter than people so I will catch one of them someday....

*Sooner or later....yes I will.

*Meanwhile, my idea works just fine! I drive to the dealership, have them unloaded, then drive back for more.

I have screens on ALL the air intakes, the squares are less than 1/4". Just how in the @#$%^%$#@!!! do they get IN there?

Now the mice in the laundry shed are no problem, those are BIG mice, some of them are at least a foot long!

No way will those get in there, but those little ones....

I think I need some meaner Cats. We have this Pit Bull, yea sure. Her idea of an attack is to search for a cookie. My wife feeds the two Cats we do have so much that all they do is lay around and watch TV.

My next plan is to put in a lift, run my Corvette up on it and lift her 8' in the air, then spray the lift shaft with cooking spray.

I did notice one funny thing. If I park the car facing East, I have Mice in there in 24 hours. If I park it facing West, no Mice....????

I thought that was a fluke but it is consistant now since 2003. Maybe because of the Sun coming up on the East and shining in there?....*EB

*Beats the he** outa me!....*LOL**...

Just an update. I have pulled the interior fan and blower cage several times for cleaning. Yesterday I stuck my finger towards the center console and felt the AC evaporator was clogged. Who knows how long it has been like this. So then I followed the instructions in this post and pulled the whole fan housing to get access to the evaporator for vacuuming.

If you have a musty smell from air vents, have had critters in the blower cage, or a sluggish AC, I suggest doing the easy check of pulling the fan motor and feeling the evaporator.

Now the mice: built the 5 gallon bucket trap but did not didn't put any water in it as I wanted other forms of torture for what they did. I was thinking they could not jump or crawl out anyway. The next morning there were no mice in it but I had simultaneously set a Victor M310 Tin Cat and there were 4 mice in it munching on Smuckers crunchy peanut butter. I took them down the road and dropped them off in front of a church (parking lot was empty). They are now on their way to becoming better mice.
