I'm thinkin about gettin' a Weber 32/36, the smog legal one in california. I've got the time and patience to tweak it, and will probably get one of those books on ebay about how to do just that. I'd just like some input from everyone on if it's a good buy, will I get more power, fuel economy . . . etc. the more the merrier!
I also looked at Holley and Edelbrock and couldn't seem to find a carb to fit my engine, or am I just not looking hard enough?
Thanks

I believe most everyone here that's not running an Aisin has a Weber instead.

sorry to derail your post a little bit but is there a difference between smog and street legal? i just got an email from sales at weber direct and they said that they do not carry any STREET legal carbs.

http://www.webercarburetors.com/ppw/html/aplication_guide/toyota_truck.htmGood question, as long as it passes smog, I don't think street legal matters . . . for me anyway In the link take a look at the 22R 4WD one.

you no drive yours on the street? even though it "never hits the street", it still has to pass emissions for registration... i get it, sorry. any way i know a couple of guys who wheel chevys but build import street rod performance engines and they definitely stand by Weber. tuning can be tricky sometimes, they say, but i think that's when dealing with synced carbs.

No mine's a daily driver, i was just saying that I don't think anyone's gonna care if it's "street legal" as long as it can pass smog. You show me one cop who will give me a ticket for not having a street legal carb
Will I get better power out of this carb? and how will it affect my mileage?

I got a little more power from the 32/36.. gas mileage stayed the same (mine always fluctuates from 14-18 as there are so many variables). It took some patience to tune, and I still haven't gotten it down perfect yet - gotta get some smaller jets. But already I notice more power.
I've heard the 38mm gives you a ton more power but decreases your mpg a little.
