When I was looking at this, my non-engineer mind was thinking... since the tank has rounded corners, I could make a frame using 1" square or bent round tubing on all 4 sides of the tank. Then weld sheets of 1/8" plate steel to this frame. If needed, add 1/8" thick reinforcements strategically welded to the plate effectively making it 1/4" steel in areas. This would minimize weight while hopefully offering rock ready tank protection. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
