I've got a similar problem with my signals, but probably weirder!

Anyway, since my rebuild was finished (and I think before the rebuild too), my lft blinker would usually remain on constant and would blink maybe 10% of the time. Usually when turning or on acceleration. Probably when I gave it the gas more power to the alternator, etc....

Anyway, emergency flashers (diff system but same bulbs) work great. That's right - all bulbs work.

I tried replacing the flasher with the specified generic replacement from NAPA, both right and left seemed to stay on constant then. Returned flasher and reinstalled the original.

Anyway, just recently this past weekend, the left signal flashes regularly now.

Do you think this is an intermittent power problem witht he alternator (low output, then improves periodically? but why not affect the right signal as well?) intermittent wire fault, or bad/dirty contact on the column switch? I don't think it's the latter. If it was a bad switch contact, it probably wouldn't come on at all.

Any thoughts with an intermittent steady turn signal that affects one side only?
