While changing out the shocks, noticed that stearing gear was dripping. Both seals are leaking. I've been quoted $289 for the part. (remanufactured) That sound right? Anything special I need to change it out besides a pittman arm puller?

Sounds about right...
Question for anyone: Has anyone ever just tried replacing the seals? I saw a repair kit on the internet for $10. I have the seal leaking at the pitman arm.

I'll see how feasible that looks when I take it off. Could be a while though - just bought good shocks, water pump, and reverse light switch ($120!!). Any more spending goes to the house reno work. Keep topping up the power steering fluid till it dies.
