IIRC, the Gen Is are pressed in and the Gen IIs are bolted. The FSMs should confirm or deny this statement...

the Gen 2 has a gen 2 ball joint. The advantage is the Gen 2 is easily replaceable(nut and bolts) , the gen 1 is a remove arm and press in the balljoint.
