Looks sweet Steve. What size tires did you end up going with? ANd diff gearing?

Them's 35x12.5 Yokohama MTs, that I got lightly used from somebody in my local wheeling club. Gearing is 5.38s

Looks like I will be starting my contdown for the ZuZoo XI (371?...). There are multiple projects going on at work, and I won't be able to make it to Moab this year.

I wish everyone safe trip to/from Moab, and have a great time there.

For anyone who may need last minute reservation, I've just canceled my reservation at Apache Motel (1-800-228-6882). Their rate was $54+tax.

Oh man, that stinks. We'll miss ya. I'll air down a tire for you, and leave the welding light on for you.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Do you guys know if anyone is planning to camp just outside of Canyonlands National Park , Needles Overloook, Indian Creek area. That is where we are planning to stay, since I do not know any other area.Only been to Moab twice to the same place. If not than how can I hook up with the rest of the Isuzu group. We will get into town wednesday morning.Should we just look for the place where most of you staying or is there a special staging area for Isuzus?

I'll be down there, and I'm staying at Archview campground. You could call my cell, and I could come pick you up. It's 5096373345. I also tend to drive around with my CB on, and channel 4 selected. The only time I'm not on Channel 4, is when I'm on a trail ride, and the group is using another channel.

It's north of the city of Moab, south of I-70, and on HWY 191.

Waddya doing for tie downs? I need more/better tie down points...

First, I removed the rear seat. On the two mount holes that are on the vertical face, I mounted a J hook on each.

I then took a large storage bin from a home improvement store and put eyebolts in each of the four upper corners. The box is roughly 21X21X36 and has a locking lid. I then attached the eye bolts to the J hooks with long turnbuckles.

In the rear I used the stock tie down points to attach the turnbuckles. I had to extend the tie downs a bit with 5/32 steel cable crimped with nicopress fittings, forming a loop.

45 hours to my departure, the preparing I had to do was fix the sway bar link bolt that snapped performing an evasive menuever when this.........women, pulled right out in front of me. I rewound my winch cable as well when I extracted myself from the ditch as I rested on two wheels.

It would be nice to have a backup plan for staging and meeting for daily runs. Of course, it is kinda bassackwards to have everyone staying at the ARchview Resort drive all the way into town if they are going to run a trail on the north side of the valley (3d, metal masher, etc. etc.)

That being said, I know that in the past, we've managed to meet at the McDonalds to get things worked out. Maybe others will chime in here with a way to make sure those that are in town will know what is going on, etc.

I'll be rolling in on Wednesday evening, and plan on stopping at Archview on the way to find out what the Thursday plans are.
