LED lights are cool and all, but you need something that will take a beating and keep on lighting! Those tractor lights, and other tractor lights, are made to take some vibration and a couple hits from pebbles and mud chunks. How long do you think those over-the-counter Auto Zone lights gonna hold up? I'm def not tryin to knock on anyone here that has them, I just think if you gonna do it, get something right for the job. Every light is different and has its own purpose!

Hhaha ugliest, exhaust, ever, LOL... nice lights tho :P Heh.. thats long gone now but it sounded great and actually looked and performed pretty good pic But back on topic: Angelo is 100% correct about finding the most durable light possible. I mounted mine in a very protected area from the front tires, but forgot that I have a reverse gear. First time spinning in reverse, both lenses cracked. The lights still work even after being submerged in water, it just looks crappy when you crawl under the truck and see cracked lenses - and apparently people here care about how things look under there -Scerb

Not to go too offtopic, but do I see your exhaust going from a single into a U? Looks like its from the exhaust pipe bin from Advance Auto. I should know, I work at one At least you welded it

and apparently people here care about how things look under there LOL, my father's family is in the Laconia/Lakeport area and I grew up in CT...I know about salt. I dig your truck Scerb, just giving you a hard time. I have a set of lights sitting on the shelf for this sort of application, but who knows when I will get around to installing them and, frankly, I don't 'crawl all that much.

I recommend this guys LEDs. I got two of them and they are REALLY bright compared to most LEDs, and the two I have mounted and have stood up to rocks hitting them, mud, being submerged countless times and still work great.I need 2 more and will be a christmas tree at night front and rear. They are bright and EASY to install...and the best part....they draw very LITTLE amperage so they wont load up your system...saving the AMPs for other things.... Different strokes for diff folks I guess...but I wouldnt run anything else but LEDs under mine after having them....Those big tractor lights are great and will stand up to abuse but they suck power and tax the system when its not necessary....just my .02. Heres the link to them ones I got. I have the 1Watt High power in the Aluminum Modules 1 Watt LED's Oh and they are cheaper than other LED companies out there and the guy was great to deal with as well.....

Those LEDs are cool, and waterproof. It would be cool to get a couple and stick under the hood too.
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

It would be cool to get a couple and stick under the hood too. Yeah, after Boosted posted up that thread, that's what I got to thinkin' too. Beats wasting time at the junkyard looking for service lights off non-Yotas.

If someone were to wire up these lil LED lights under the hood, how would one do it? Is it that simple?

The same way you wired your rock lights, just stick them under the hood.

I like LED's, but I do not like they way they light things. I like good ole regular lamps. So I have to run a relay to use them.... ohh well. I'm gonna do mine JUST like Angelos truck.
