I can't help feeling that I've betrayed my Rodeo by buying a second daily driver. But, the miles on the Rodeo were accumulating quickly and I have too much invested in it to wear it out on pavement. Also, the rising gas prices were a factor. I'll still drive the Rodeo to work a lot, but now there are options.

There is a certain liberation in having a separate daily driver...you can allow mods to your trail rig to stretch on for weeks or months if desired, without impacting your mobility...ask me how I know this

Getting the Wheeling Fever
lol! Great topic. I have considered the same question, actually. If I found a Geo Metro for $700 (for daily commute), it would cut my fuel expense by 2/3. But, would it betray my own DNA and testosterone in the process?

These are scary times we live in!

I parked the Rodeo and bought a VX for my daily driver ... hasn't helped my gas mileage a bit but, MAN, is that thing fun to drive

I drive a '90 Civic as a DD.

Having that has allowed me to take my time in making a number of improvements to the Trooper. There is no way that I could have pulled the entire front end out to install an ARB, new steering gear, winch, etc., if I had to rely on the Trooper to get to work each day.

Getting a sports car helps with the image issue.

If that really does have the DOHC VTEC engine (as the sticker on the trunk proclaims) that's actually a pretty rare car with a fantastic engine and should hold its value for quite a while.
