I want to wax our new assembled in Colombia 2007 Montero but I remember something about the paint has to age before you do that. I can?t find a date of production anywhere on the vehicle or in it?s paperwork but we did have to order the color we wanted and waited a month for delivery from Bogotß. We?ve had the car about two weeks now. Anybody know if there?s a waiting period and how long?

The date (month/year) of manufacture should be stamped on a plate (for U.S. vehicles anyway) which is on the driver-side door frame.
According to various hits on the 'net, The ranges I found indicated you can wax a new car anywhere from right away to 21 days after you bring it home. I'd say go ahead and wax it in another week or two if you feel unsure or right away if you find that the date of mfg is over a month ago.

Thanks Capn?. The car is at least six weeks old so I guess I can go ahead and wax it.
