I had an '86 1/2 ton Chevy stolen from me in '98. It was lifted 4" on 35's with a 14 bolt in the rear, Dana 60 up front, TH400 tranny, was going to be my mud beast. Good looking truck, great condition. Never heard a peep after it was stolen, just vanished.

I had an ignition cut out on it, and the Club, lot of good that did me. I had the front driveline out of it to replace U-joints, had the rebuilt driveline in the garage, got up on a Sunday morning, hit the garage door button, uhhhhhh, why isn't my truck in the driveway. Walked out, looked left, looked right, damn, thought to myself, won't see that thing ever again. I still have that driveline in my shed, just can't bring myself to part with it. Brand new U-joints in it too.

Granted I did not have multiple layers of theft protection, but they got around my ignition cut out and club pretty easily. I would agree that you have to make it hard to take it away. The brake lock would make it pretty hard to get it on a flat bed also.
