If you hang around these boards long enough you'll notice that four out of every five posts related to stolen vehicles originates out of California. I thought, "What's going on over there?!!" Then I realized that that is probably because many of the contributors to these forums are based there as well. A quick look at FBI crime statstics shows that car theft is really variable from location to location for reasons that are not clear to me. It is interesting to note that Phoenix, Arizona has an auto theft rate that's two and a half times as bad as Los Angeles. And that Detroit is even worse with three and a half times as much. Houston, Dallas and Atlanta are also really, really bad, but Austin, San Antonio, El Paso and New York City are low in the numbers. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> How do you account for that? -- Matt
