Hmmm, I don't know about the dust cap. I see a shoulder on the male end that the edge of the female end stops at. I almost thought about grinding that shoulder, and moving it towards the u-joint, but wasn't sure how deep the female end is. are you saying the female end is way deeper than the male end?

i cut down a rear driveshaft to make my front. stock slipshaft, maybee 6" travel. i have yet to drop it with my TG front springs. Let me drive it, I will get it to come apart. Stock length is just not long enough. I was on the Con one weekend and this guy was bragging about running a stock length slip. Going down the Big Sluice he was pretty flexed out, there was a loud bang. When I got there, he had broken the front output shaft out of the t-case and the d-shaft was bent. What happened was the slip was almost out and as it started to compress the male part of the slip cocked in the female part, did not slide back in so something had to break/bend and both happened, busted t-case, bent d-shaft.

Thanks, I do have crossover and I've already moved the axle forward 3-4". I think I need to check on the kit from Marlin.

Well, I've ordered the longer slip from Marlin. I could have done the square tube but I'll try this first.
I've also run the stock slip for about a year and mine fell apart one time, going up a steep hill.
