Hmmm, I don't know about the dust cap. I see a shoulder on the male end that the edge of the female end stops at. I almost thought about grinding that shoulder, and moving it towards the u-joint, but wasn't sure how deep the female end is. are you saying the female end is way deeper than the male end?
