I recently replaced the timing chain in my '88 22re and now it has a major lack of power!! It barely has enough juice to pull through the gears! I set the ignition timing at 5 degrees before TDC. Im now thinking the valve timing is way out. I originaly set the camshaft sprocket slightly clock-wise (just right of the mark on the head) on the chain seeing as it will stretch back to center anyways right? Or should i have set the sprocket just left of center? The sprocket and chain wouldn't line up exactly with the little mark on the head so it was either/or. Sorry for the dumb question but atleast now i've learned that the haynes manual is useless <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> Any help with this ASAP would be great. Thanks.
